Divina had a busy day. On Saturday, she had told me about possible plans with Chris=[outside of family members-names are changed to protect their identity]
When I arrived at the house for lunch, I had expected to find her gone, because she told me about the outing in advance. It was something I gave permission to enjoy without worry. Chris was met online early upon Divina arriving back at the house.
Meeting him was one of the first jet off into nowhere to be found or heard of moments. We managed to work around that history, and He is not a bad person. She just did not have good judgement that day. There seems to be a BIG learning curve to this after so much time being my daughter… 😆
She managed to go have lunch with Chris without issue and still mess with my head all at the same time. She texted a restaurant in Sarasota which is 1 1/2 hrs away while telling me she was back already in about 2 hours time. I’m thinking Chris is driving around like a bat outta hell with my lil jewel of a girl.
She then clarified that lunch was closer by at Cracker Barrel. Aww… relief - All of this was going down while I’m at work during an audit. I really need to retire and just spend my days with Divina. The Tios agree! [Tio=Uncle]
That brings us to the Uncles. Tio K and Tio P popped into town to draw their summer road trip to a conclusion. It called for a dinner at the pizza buffet. A rare treat indeed.
Divina was happy to have them and stuck close by to all of us. She was very quiet, but I think that was just to respect her tios. It’s pretty fun listening to them bicker back and forth amongst themselves, then of course I love to interject something to get them rolling again.
We took them on a sightseeing ride after dinner. Seeing the places they haven’t been around for the last 20 years. She really enjoyed that. Then we headed back to the house to reminisce the nostalgia of it all.
Best part is they hand-delivered a wooden postcard from Key West. I didn’t even have time to get a picture of it. The night was flying past so quickly and they were off.
Divina was pretty connected most of the time. A few times in the car she was in the other worlds, but she answered when spoken to and admitted not getting parts of the conversation. Just having her with us was the most fulfilling part. I’m so grateful to have her back at home with me. We are going to make the very best of this!
I waited to publish until I could show off this postcard!
