With all the hub bub of visitors & extra days on the JOB, our week flew by. Fortunately for Divina, she has been stabilizing somewhat.
She is understanding that people do not just get up and walk away without telling someone else. But this comes at a price.
She is secluded. She has no visitors and no connections with people outside the house. She can have family over while I’m working, but it’s not happening.
Remember, the guys do not speak English and she does not speak Spanish. Therefore, it’s like ghosts passing in the foyers. No connection at all.
Tomorrow is shot day. It’s also the day we recertify for the clinic to receive medical treatment. It’s a crap shoot to know if we are going to be accepted to get treatment or not.
We did see her primary DR on yesterday. She will have the FMLA forms ready when we return tomorrow for recert. This is probably one of the biggest helps to our cause.
Having FMLA means my job cannot punish me for taking legitimate time off to care for my daughter’s appointments. I will not point out, so to speak. Not for doctor’s appointments. They can still fire me for any other whim or late punch, but the FMLA does have some protection.
Now I can with a good conscience put my daughter’s needs first. I will do that anyway, because any consequences in caring for her will lead to the right place for me to be, whether it is with this company, another, or in my own lifestyle business.
One day at a time.
She was in a lot of pain Monday night and Tuesday morning. We need to get to the bottom of this pain and difficulty she feels she has with learning now.
Friday is the brain appointment, Hopefully we can get started on a path to answers. Hopefully she will still have medical coverage. I think she will. I’m faithful!
